What you will be doing as the Merchandise Manager:
Create and own assigned products throughout their life cycle, including product approval at each stage of development.
Manage all areas of product research, initiation, design, testing, development, justification, liability, initial forecasting, maintenance, and discontinuation for assigned rental garments.
Develop the launch strategy and serves as the liaison between global supply chain, marketing efforts, sales training, and customers.
Conduct research by visiting salesmen and customers and by analyzing surveys and databases.
Stay up to date on retail trends, sales trends, and other relevant market data for their assigned product lines.
Source, select, and design fabric direction, fit, details, trims, labels, and all other product related aspects.
Thoroughly test all products, including fabrics, trims, and all components.
Manage and deliver required outcomes for all assigned product lines with general direction from the Senior Merchandise Manager.
Creates the first year forecast using historical data from the data team, market research (e.g., from the Bureau of Labor), and expectations from the development phase.
What you will need as the Merchandise Manager:
Bachelor's degree in fashion/garment design, fashion merchandising, or equivalent.
5+ years' experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others.
Experience as a project leader is required.
Knowledge of garment conception (patterning, fit adjustments, etc.), fabric and trim construction (fabrications, dyes, weaves, knits), regulatory constraints (OSHA), apparel, uniforms, and retail.
Able to design based on research and white space in the market and to forecast based on market trends.
Conduct research and analyzes data without supervision while providing technical guidance as needed in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of customer and market conditions that enables maximum return on investments.
Communicate with other people without requiring supervision and provides technical guidance when required on speaking in a clear, concise and compelling manner as well as costing, budgeting and finance tasks.
Travel required 25-35% of the time.
