MECHANICAL ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Mechanical Engineer II will engineer automotive components and automotive sub-systems in support of a cutting edge medium/heavy duty hybrid electric vehicle.

• Identifies and defines the scope of a component or sub-system design project and works to complete the required engineering in a timely and through manner.  This person will be engineering components that will become part of an innovative vehicle platform that is used by last mile delivery companies
• Collaborates with other engineers to find innovative solutions to automotive engineering problems
• Uses 3d CAD to effectively design and integrate components and sub-systems into a vehicle platform
• Understands how their mechanical engineering work affects other engineering disciplines and works with them to complete projects in a time and cost effective manner
• Completes engineering work with manufacturing, and vehicle production in mind
• Uses FEA and CFD where appropriate to ensure reliable and efficient engineering design
• Does basic thermal modeling and other basic vehicle dynamics modeling

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient in Solidworks 3d CAD environment and 2D drawings environment
• Good communication skills and team oriented attitude
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications as well as other computer based engineering tools
• Has experience supporting continuous product improvement of an engineering product currently in production
• Experience or keen interest in automotive engineering
• Comfortable working in a fast paced innovative engineering company
