What you will be doing as the Call Center Representative:
Answers and routes incoming calls to include patient information, paging, directory assistance, patient requests to speak to provider, and emergency calls. Processes outgoing calls including long distance, international, and conference calls.
Performs paging and on call services and provide programming and testing of pagers.
Utilizes a variety of electronic and non-electronic resources; operates multiple software programs; and regularly queries and enters data into computer workstation.
Maintains and interprets on-call schedules to identify appropriate staff on-call for various clinical and non-clinical services.
Maintains proper and up-to-date documentation for all responsibilities listed above per procedure.
Provides complete and appropriate EPIC documentation of telephone encounters and routing to appropriate provider or clinical pool as required by procedure.
What you will need as the Call Center Representative:
High School Diploma
6+ months of customer service experience
Previous communications, medical office, or call center experience preferred. Previous experience working in a customer service capacity required.
Must be able to provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and external agencies.
Must be able to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to carry out procedures and instructions.
Must have ability to remain calm and effectively communicate under pressure and unusual circumstances.
Must be able to multitask on a consistent basis.
Must have effective typing skills in order to efficiently query and enter data to process calls.
Must be able to take direction and work both independently and as part of a group in the communications area.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and wear a telephone headset.
Must demonstrate excellent hearing, diction, and appropriate voice modulation.
Proficiency with personal computers and Windows based applications is required.
